The Mothers' Union is a worldwide Christian organisation that has 3.6 million members in 76 countries. Its members are passionate about supporting family life.
The Rye & District branch meets on the second Monday of each month in the Day Centre at Magdala House in Ferry Road, Rye at 7.30pm. (apart from July & August). New members and visitors are welcome.
Locally the branch, together with members from Brede branch, supply Emergency Bathroom Packs to the Conquest Hospital in Hastings. These consist of soap, toothbrush & paste, face flannel and a 'Get Well' card and are supplied to patients who are admitted to hospital in an emergency and have no relatives to take them bathroom items from home.
Members also fund raise to support projects such as the 'Away From It All' Holiday Scheme, where families who need a holiday, but are unable to fund one for themselves, are given a one week break in a caravan owned by the Mothers' Union.
