The Parish Church of St Mary, Rye

What is Messy Church??

Messy Church began in April 2004 near Portsmouth. It is church for families who find it hard to go to church on a Sunday, and a typical session would include chilling, creating, celebrating and chomping. It meets at a time most suitable for a local area, either after school or at the weekend. Perhaps the most significant aspects are those of:
welcoming the whole family together not just the children; being a church not a club; eating together.

Messy Church  at St Mary's meets monthly on a Friday afternoon
after school until
6pm

in St Mary's Centre, Lion Street, Rye
(just a few yards away from the church and next to Kino)

Everyone is very welcome.

Next dates are:

May 3rd
June 7th

Messy Church Outing on Friday 29th July 2016

pony

Messy Church members and friends set off on a double decker bus (Thank you Renown and thank you to the congregation of St Mary's who paid for it) to Blackberry Farm (http://blackberry-farm.co.uk/ ) on their annual outing. Although it rained on the journey there by the time we arrivegoatd it had stopped and we had a dry and not too hot day. Lots of animals to see including the Gloucester Old Spot piglets, donkeys, alpacas ( a really cute baby!), goats and a lovely pony. The play areas were enjoyed by all as was the ever popular tractor ride.
